Mrs. Tonia Marie Gowan Greene, 50, of Autryville, North Carolina passed away September 18, 2022.

Born on April 2, 1972, in Tampa, Fl the youngest of eight children. She learned the importance of integrity, hard work and core values early in life taught to her by her beautiful mother, Betty Jean Gowan, as well as her older brothers and sisters whom she loved dearly. In 2009, she made a remarkable connection when she met the love of her life, Clint Greene. Married in 2017 they made their home in Autryville and together took great pride in lovingly raising their children Austin, Gabriel and Sophie. Despite being diagnosed with Cancer, and receiving treatment, she remained strong in her faith and a constant pillar of strength. She continued to devote her life to the care and wellbeing of others particularly her family. She affectionately and selflessly supported her husband, Clint, as well as their children, Austin, Gabriel and Sophie, in all they would do.

Tonia was a calm, nurturing and caring woman who spent her life thinking of others. From her perspective there was always a silver lining present in every situation. Being with her always made others feel warm as if the sun was always shining upon their face. She approached everyone with the same respect and genuinity and was truly exceptional. Despite her age she demonstrated time and time again that there are no limitations in life, age is a mindset not a physical limitation. Filled with joy, Tonia frequently enjoyed roller skating, golf, serving as the Assistant Business Manager of Stryker Golf Course, and relished every second of singing as a member of the band, Straight Drive.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father Betty and Steven Gowan; her Brother Ralph King; maternal grandparents Leonard and Elizabeth Bosworth; and paternal grandmother Ruth Crenshaw. 

She is survived by her husband, Clint Greene of Autryville; Sons, Austin Greene of Vass , and Gabriel Prentice, of the home. Daughter, Sophie Greene, of the home. Mother and father in law Robin and Mark McPherson of Spring Lake. Brothers Donald King and wife Mary of Chuluota. Thomas King of Tampa. Sisters Carmen and Tammy King of Tampa. Theresa King of Autryville. Betty Gatlin and husband Ashton “Bucky” Gatlin of Salemburg. Sister in law Sherry Humphries and husband Keith of Spring Lake. Sister in law Crystal Melum and husband Chris of Spokane. Sister in law Haley Edwards and husband Matthew of Clinton.Many special cousins, nieces, nephews as well as great nieces and nephews who loved her tremendously.

A celebration of life service will be held at The Church at Cedar Creek on Saturday September 24, 2022 at 1:00 pm officiated by Pastor Randall Hunt 4010 Cedar Creek Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28312.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Point Christian Academy for the continuing education and tuition of, daughter, Sophie Greene. 102 E College St, Salemburg, NC 28385.
