Tammy Royal Obituary

Tammy Royal 64,  of 209 Midway Oval, Groton, Connecticut, passed away on December 11th 2025 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in New London, Connecticut.

Tammy was born in Sampson County North Carolina on December 17, 1960, to the late James Robert Royal and JoAnn Graham of Greensboro, North Carolina.

Tammy became a member of Running Branch Church at an early age and remained a faithful and devoted member throughout her life. Even when distance and health challenges limited her ability to attend in person, she continued to worship faithfully by watching services through the church’s Facebook Live until her health declined.Tammy received her education at Freeport High School in Long Island, New York, where she earned her diploma.She was employed with General Dynamics in Groton, Connecticut, where she worked faithfully for 32 years until her health declined.Tammy was a loving and forgiving person—kind-hearted, generous, and deeply family-oriented. She truly loved her family and friends and never hesitated to help others. Wherever she went, she brought joy and laughter, always leaving people smiling.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Robert Royal; her sister, Diana Ramos; and her nephews, Adam Royal and Anthony Graham.

Funeral Service to be held Saturday, January 3rd, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Running Branch Disciple of Christ Church, 354 Running Branch Road, Clinton, North Carolina. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Walkthrough Friday, January 2nd, 2026 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her mother, JoAnn Graham (Terry), of Greensboro, North Carolina; her brothers, Donnie Royal (Rose) of Seattle, Washington, and Gary Royal (Sheila) of Greensboro, North Carolina; her sister, Terri Murphy (Derrick) of Mystic, Connecticut; her brothers, Luis Rivera of Puerto Rico and Julio Rivera of Seattle, Washington; along with a loving host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. And as Tammy loved to say, “That’s a wrap!”
