Stephanie D. Key

Stephanie D. Key, 38 of 2415 Catherine Lake Road, Richlands.  passed away on February 7, 2025, at Pender Memorial Hospital in Burgaw, NC. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend .

Born in Durham, NC, at Chapel Hill Hospital on November 10, 1986, Stephanie’s vibrant spirit and love for life touched the hearts of all who knew her. A proud North Carolina native, Stephanie grew up in Richlands and attended Richlands High School, where she participated in choir, marching band, and musicals. As a talented flutist and singer, Stephanie's love for music and theater has carried with her throughout her life. She later attended Catawba College, where she earned her Bachelor's in the Arts, a testament to her creative and dedicated nature.
In her personal life, Stephanie was a passionate lover of animals, live music, and good company. Whether she was attending a country or rock concert, cheering on her favorite Nascar drivers like Kyle Busch, or enjoying a fun wrestling match. Stephanie embraced every moment with joy. Her love of movies, Disney, and especially Harry Potter was an integral part of who she was.

Stephanie wishes to be cremated and to remain with family. Stephanie’s family and friends were always at the center of her world. She was deeply connected to her loved ones, both old and new, and always made those around her feel welcome. Everyone fortunate enough to know her will remember her kindness, generosity, and love for people. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, warmth, and love for her community.

She is survived by her parents, William and Melanie Wood Key of Richland, siblings, Samantha Keys of Richlands, and Carrie Key of Richlands, many other cherished family members and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts, as well as her fur babies that she loved dearly.
