Shelia Tatum Obituary

Elizabethtown

Shelia Ann Davis Tatum 57, of 558 Cain Loop Rd., passed from this life on to her heavenly reward on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at her home.

Shelia was born in Sampson County on May 21, 1965 to Sarah Davis and the late Bobby Davis. As a child, Shelia survived the odds after open heart surgery. She was an incredilby strong willed and hard headed girl. She attended Tar Heel Junior Senior High School and later went on to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Shelia dedicated her self to educating the youth and worked as a teacher for Bladen Middle School. Shelia attended services at Windsor United Methodist Church on Ammon, NC. She loved to dance and sing to old songs, spend time outdoors with her children, gardening, and celebrating her Native American heritage. Shelia always aimed to make everyone around her laugh. Her joy and humor will be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Shelia was preceded in death by her Father, Bobby Davis.

Shelia leaves to cherish her memory: her husband: Bo Tatum of the home; children: Heather Cooper of Durham, Angela Mitchell of Fayetteville, and Joshua Tatum of Ammon; her mother: Sarah Davis; siblings: Carol Ware, Sherry Goodman, Bobby Davis Jr., and Mary Davis; grandchildren: Austin Cooper, Faith Cooper, Avan Mitchell, Johnathan Smith, and Micah Mitchell; and great-granddaughter: Vera Cooper.
