Sharon Gayle (West) Smith

Sharon Gayle West Smith, 63, of Erwin went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the Carrolton of Dunn Nursing Home.

A service will be held in her memory on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 4 pm at Central Baptist Church Chapel at 6050 Plain View Hwy, Dunn, NC. Visitation with the family will be from 3-4 pm in the chapel.

Sharon enjoyed spending time with her family and the ladies group at Central Baptist Church, where she attended. She also enjoyed doing any kind of craft and loved nature. She was born in Sampson County on April 27, 1962, to Ina Tart West and the late G. Sherwood West. She lived most of her life in Newton Grove, where she graduated from Hobbton High School in 1980.

She was also, preceded in death by her husband, Stacy Smith and a brother, Mitchell West.

Her memories will be cherished by her children, Victoria Smith of Clinton, Gabrielle Smith of Charleston, WV, and Brennan Smith of High Point. Also, her grandsons, Harper, Hayden & Halo. Her siblings, Gene (Rhonda) of Newton Grove & Marriem Strickland of Mt. Olive.

The family would like to offer their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of Liberty Hospice and the Carrolton of Dunn Nursing Home.
