Sandra Kay Griffith Obituary

Roseboro,

Sandra Kay Griffith 67, of 6652 Dunn Road passed away Saturday June 18, 2022, at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn.

Sandra, who was affectionately known as “Sassy” and “Sandy Candy”, was born on March 3, 1955 in Sumter, South Carolina to Bertha Williams Griffith and the late Rev. Charles Lee Griffith. She was a special needs teacher with Roseboro Middle School for 17 years and drove the school bus. She loved the children and greatly enjoyed teaching her students. Sandy was a very involved member of the Woodmen of the World of Clinton, loved to talk on the phone with family and friends, and cherished spending time with her grandchildren. Sandy opened her home to any delivery driver and mailmen who stopped at her home. She always made sure they knew they could walk into her home for a restroom break and made sure they left with a drink and a snack. Sandy also made sure that anyone who entered her home always left with a full bag of candy. Above all Sandy loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Sandy is preceded in death by her father Rev. Charles Lee Griffith and brothers Dean Griffith and Gary Griffith.

Funeral Service will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday June 22, 2022, at Spring Branch Baptist Church 2391 North Spring Branch Road Dunn. Burial will follow at the Williams Spell Family Cemetery on Minnie Hall Road Roseboro.

Family will receive friends Wednesday June 22, 2022, 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Spring Branch Baptist Church and other times at her sister Ginger Naylor home 2201 Phillips Road Dunn.

Left to cherish the many wonderful memories of Sandy are her son Lee Masters and wife Jessica of Godwin, NC; mother Bertha “Teenie” Griffith of Dunn, NC; sister Ginger Naylor and husband Carl of Dunn, NC; sister-in-law  Rhonda Griffith of Vincennes, IN; grandchildren Lily Masters of Hurts, VA, Gracyn Masters and Garrison Masters both of Godwin, NC, two special great nieces Sophie and Sadie McQueen and a host of nieces and nephews.
