Samuel Rouse, better known as “San or Sam”, a loving father, brother, and grandfather, was called to glory on Friday, January 27, 2023.
He was born on July 18, 1962, to James Leach and Rosa Rouse. He was reared in the Faison township and attended North Duplin Schools. Sam graduated from North Duplin High School in 1981 with an offer to play baseball for North Carolina State University, but he chose to go into the work force instead.
Sam was employeed at Cates Pickles for several years and then moved on to Georgia Pacific where he worked until an auto accident rendered him disabled. Sam married Deborah McLamb in 1984 and to this union one child was born, Tiffany Rouse.
Samuel was preceded in death by his father, James Leach; aunt, Mildred Leach; and his grandfather, Andrew Leach.
Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328. Burial will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery, 3 McKoy Street, Clinton, NC 28328.
A Walk Through will take place 2:00-7:00 pm, with family present from 6:00-7:00 pm, Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton, NC 28328.
He is survived by his mother, Rosa (Randolph) George of Brooklyn, NY; his daughter, Tiffany (Eric) Cooper of Clinton, NC; his stepdaughter, Shonda McLamb of Clinton, NC; his sister, Desiree Taylor of Brooklyn, NY; his aunt, Mary Ashford and uncle, Thomas Leach, both of Booklyn, NY; aunt, Fannie Candelario of Goldsboro, NC; his brothers, Johnny Rouse, Nathaniel (Evonne) Rouse, and Thomas Rouse, all of Goldsboro, NC; grandchildren, Zakee Coleman, Nyaisa Cooper, Angel Coleman, Tykeisha King and Samaj Owens; great grandchildren, Ky’Lan Glaspie, Dakayla Glaspie, Ni’Mahri Coleman, Zyla Coleman; a host of neices, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.
