On Sunday, November 12, 2023, the Divine Master in His infinite wisdom, called Rosalind Denise Jordan-Devone (Mother Devone) from labor to reward. Mother Devone has gone home to reunite with her (Boaz) Trustee William D. Devone.
She was born on February 10, 1952 to the late James Fredrick Jordan and Ernestine Ruth Austin in Washington D.C. She was blessed with one son, Damon Farell Diggs, who was very special to her and proceded her in death. She was employed with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for many years. She worked with children for over 30 years. Her love for people stretched beyond measures.
The Celebration of Home Going for Rosalind will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328. Following the service Rosalind will be laid to rest beside her husband in Springvale Cemetery, located on W. Elizabeth Street, Clinton, NC.
Visitation will take place 1:00-2:00 pm, prior to the service, within Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel.
Mother Rosalind Jordan-Devone joined St. Peter United Holy Church in Keener under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Bobby C. Lamb. As time went on she later became a member of St. Mary United Holy Church, also under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Bobby C. Lamb. She served well as a faithful member of the Mother's Board and as President of the Usher Board. Even with her failing health she supported as a faithful and devoted member.
She leaves to cherish her memories: nieces Lamshea, Valery, and Tiffany (Washington, D.C.); god-daughter Mrs. Shannon Dixon (Bobby) of Clinton, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service & Cremation is honored to serve the Family of Rosalind Jordan-Devone.
