Elder Richard Earl Aycock affectionately known as “Buddy Love” a name he playfully gave himself in the latter years of his life that described his Love and affectionate care for All His close friends and Family; departed this life on 31 December 2024 at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC.
Brother Aycock was born to the late Johnny Thomas Aycock aka “Brother Dick Aycock and Sister Marie Aycock on January 5, 1957, of Clinton, NC last known address of 659 Isaac Weeks Road.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, January 10, 2025 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328. Burial will follow in Sandhill Cemetery, 3 Sampson St., Clinton, NC 28328.
Visitation will take place 2:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328.
He is survived in death by his Brothers Thomas Aycock and youngest brother Duncan Manwell Aycock and His Sister Priscilla Aycock-Rich and His three Sons and their wives/Significant others Donnie and Kawana Williams; Lonnie Lee Williams and Keeler Dunbar; Richard Earl Aycock Jr.; and His Daughter Arlene and Clifton Frederick his son-in-law currently living in the Clinton, NC area and their Mother Sheila Kaye Williams; Brother Aycock is survived by His Friend Ms. Audrey Mims of Clinton, NC. And His grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; Dakota Williams; Elias Williams; Sonovia Pickett; Nasir Pickett; Rasheed Bryant; Moses Frederick; and his Great Grand Daughter Rayne Bryant; Ernest Brown; Zanyah Bandera; Kenya Hardy. Brother Aycock is survived by His nieces and Nephews Jamy Aycock; Tomekia Aycock; Jesse Oates; Josiah Oates; Dyla Joyner; Dylan Aycock; Derrick Aycock; Lawrence Aycock; Lavarus Aycock, and Gamir Aycock; Melanie Hamilton and Jennifer Lewis. Brother Aycock is survived by Aunts and Uncles associated with the very vast number of relatives in His family of descendants and blood relatives.
Brother Aycock attended Clinton City Schools and finished his High School education while assigned to the North Carolina Job Corps Program. He worked for the State of North Carolina Department of Transportation as a Highway Maintenance Machine Operator and worked various trade occupations throughout his life. Brother Aycock was passionate in service to his community and loved ones in cooking and preparing meals as an active Member of Regathering of Israel Bible Class Community Outreach Operations feeding family, friends, neighbors, and anyone who needed his attention or sought him for help. He loved music, dancing, and Loved fellowship in brotherly bonds with All people.
Pops was the life of anything he participated in as he brought laughter, Brotherly Love, and friendship as a care package he shared with many many people. He was well known as “Buddy Love” by many who will carry him on in their hearts and minds. Rest in peace our dear Brother and we hope in Jesus Name to see you again in the Kingdom of Our Lord and Savior Jesus The Christ at the time appointed according to His Holy Word.
