Rex Ferguson Obituary

Rex Ferguson, 60, of Shallotte, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.  His final days were visitations of close family at his side & communication with family filled with many “I love you”s. He was greeted at The Golden Gate by his parents, “Junior” & Mae, and sister Ann.  He is survived by his 2 beloved daughters (Raven & Megan), 2 sisters (Cindy & Wendy) , one brother (Chris), & 7 loving grandchildren along with extended family.

Rex grew up on the coast of Carolinas.  He enjoyed family time overall and activities by the water, like fishing and walking on the beach.  Rex was well known for his free spirit and love of life in general. He embraced life to the fullest and encouraged loved ones to “always say your prayers” and be grateful.  Rex always aimed at making others smile and would elevate the mood with a quirky line or funny story to share.  He would say “just a little bit”, yet mean so much to others.  Rex was a loving father, “Pop-Pops”, brother and friend to all, and he will live on in our hearts forever.

"Remember me with smiles not tears," he would request. The family will have a private celebration of his life.
