Maureen Sloan Moore entered this world on December 21, 1962 and departed this world on September 16, 2022.

She was a graduate of Clinton High School and student of 2 years at North Carolina A&T University. Maureen worked 16 years for the NC Department of Public Safety (Sampson Correctional Institute) where she met the love of her life, Hameed Shareef. Married in 1996, they made their home in Sampson County and raised two sons. She continued to work with Skilled Creations and assisting others on their homes. She was known as a selfless care taker to her family and many others. Family meant the world to her and everyone Maureen met was treated with dignity and respect.

She is preceded in death by her mother Mamie Sloan and sister Carmenletta Whitted.

She is survived by her husband Hameed Shareef of the home; sons Domnique Sloan (Sashir) of Durham, NC and Daryl Sloan of Roseboro, NC; brothersGary Sloan of Turkey, NC, Derek Sloan (Connie) of Seattle, WA; sister Charity Marie Sloan of Clinton, NC; sisters in law Latasha Moore of Warsaw, NC, Carolyn Best (Raeford) of Warsaw, NC; brother in law Lindell Williams of Harrells, NC and a host of special nieces and nephews. She also leaves special friends Damira (Dee Dee), Alisa, and Osie.  

A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday September 22, 2022 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 3620 Roseboro Hwy, Clinton, NC 28328 (Old Hwy 24 West).

Walk Through will be held 2:00-6:00 pm, family present from 5:00-6:00 pm, Wednesday September 21, 2022 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton, NC 28328.
