Maureen Drew Obituary

Kenansville

Maureen Drew, aged 76, of 329 Cooper Street passed away on June 27, 2024 Wellington Park Nursing Center in Kenansville. Maureen was preceded in death by her parents, James and Agnes McCahill, and her husband, Glenn Warren Drew. She is survived by her daughter Robyn Christina-Drew Kardos, son Sean Cory Drew, sister Bernadette Vercoe, brother Desmond McCahill, grandchildren, Tyler, Erzsebet, Katalin, and Aiden Kardos and Talya and Daniel Drew, and nephew Ross Vercoe.

Maureen was repatriated to the United States upon marriage to Glenn. Maureen adored her husband – they were married over fifty years, and she was never quite the same after losing him 6 years ago.

Maureen was very well-read and was a master at crossword puzzles. She loved playing scrabble with her sister Bernadette. She loved her tea or cappuccino (which for Maureen was best served with a tasty Danish!), and she also enjoyed getting a smoke on the patio. She was a member of a group of tight-knit ladies who played bridge regularly for decades and she loved them dearly.  Maureen was a creative person who enjoyed sewing pieces and decorating her home, particularly at Christmas time! Maureen and her family traveled extensively and she therefore had a broad knowledge of the world and many different cultures, but stayed a devout Scot to the end! She was a great conversationalist as well. Her profession was in real estate and she made many great connections there!

Early in her marriage to Glenn, Maureen taught herself the art of cooking became a masterful gourmet cook, and blessed her family with decades of delicious feasts where loved ones would gather, eat, and fellowship with one another. Maureen was always elegantly dressed and wore beautiful jewelry that had sentimental significance to her. She had a lovely, warm smile and she will be missed dearly!

The family would like to thank Wellington  Park Assisted Living 329 Cooper Street Kenansville for the love and care of our Mother, Robert and Angela Crummie, Administrators and their staff for amazing care.
