Mary Irene Goodman

Mary Irene Goodman, 74, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Gainesville Health & Rehab in Gainesville, Virginia. Born on October 31, 1950, in Clinton, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Samuel Goodman and Mary Monk.

A Graveside service was held at 11:00 am on Sunday, June 29, 2025, in the Bearskin MB Church Cemetery at 4721 Bearskin Rd., Clinton, NC.

A woman of love, kindness, and dedication, Mary touched the lives of all who knew her. She was known for her warm heart and welcoming spirit and built a distinguished career as a sought-after cosmetologist and other careers in the DMV areas. Her skill and passion earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.

Mary’s legacy of service, care, and compassion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her.

Irene leaves to cherish her memory a son, Marcus Goodman, 3 sisters Romell Perry of Wendell, NC, Queen Newkirk of Goldsboro, NC and Carolyn Bledsoe of Clayton, NC., and one brother Ervin Goodman of Ft Washington, Md. One brother-in-law, Otto Newkirk, two sisters-in-law Patricia Goodman and Pearline Goodman and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other family and friends as well as many others whose lives she enriched with her generosity and love.
