Mary Katherine "Kathy" Corbett 72, of 900 Beaman St., went to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 16, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Kathy was born on March 19, 1952 in Scotland County, NC to the late Mamie Lee Hainey and Roscoe Bass.
Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Clinton Family Worship Center, 103 Raiford St, Clinton, NC 28328, with Pastor Lynn Blackburn, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home of her daughter, 900 Beaman St., Clinton, NC.
Burial will take place the following morning at 10:00 am, Wednesday, February 19, 2025, within Springvale Cemetery, on Raiford St., located beside Clinton Family Worship Center.
A faithful member of Clinton Family Worship Center, Kathy attended services until her health would no longer allow her to. She loved her church and church family very much. Kathy worked in food service for many years as a cook and had a talent for preparing delicious food. She was famous within her family for her homemade buttermilk biscuits and canned tomatoes. Kathy enjoyed playing BINGO and spending time with her family. She loved her family deeply, especially her grandkids.
Kathy was preceded in passing by her husband: Terry Corbett; her parents: Roscoe & Mamie Brown; brothers: Carl Hainey, Roscoe "Jr." Bass, Rubin Bass, Glenn Bass, and Alfred Hainey; and a niece: Shannon Gardner.
Kathy leaves behind to forever cherish her memory, her son: Eric Beatty and wife, Amanda of Autryville, NC; daughters: Angie Beatty Ibrahim and husband, Ahmad of Myrtle Beach, SC and Fonda Beatty Hawkins and husband, Paul of Clinton, NC; step-son: Thomas Corbett and wife, Misty of N. Wilksboro, NC; her sisters: Rosie Carter and husband, Charles of Clinton, NC and Ann Brown of Erwin, NC; special niece: Lisa Pearsall of Clinton, NC; 13 grandkids and 9 great-grandkids.
