Mary Boykin Obituary

 

On the morning of July 4, 2020 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, God knew best when he called our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend to her heavenly home.

Mary Ann Boykin was born on November 23, 1948 to the late Charlie James & Annie Ruth Bennett. She graduated from Charles E Perry class of 1968. She worked over 20 years at Lundy’s Packing Co., after leaving Lundy’s she started working at Morganite in Dunn, NC until her health declined her. 

Mary Ann was a devoted member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church were she served several years on the Pastor Aide Committee. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband Elliott Lee Boykin, Sr. brother Charlie Ray Bennett, sister Rosetta Elting. 

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Old Hwy 24 West, Clinton, Bishop Fullwood will officiate.

She leaves to cherish her memories children; Elliott (Bud) Boykin of Charlotte, NC and Latoya Boykin of Clinton, NC Grandchildren; Yasmine, Traveon, and TraQuan Thompkins all from Charlotte, NC Shamell Little of Clinton, NC Two brothers; James E Bennett(Mary) Roy Lee Bennett(Gloria) both from Clinton, NC. A host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives and friends. She leaves a special cousin/sister Ester Mae Fleet. A special thanks to her cousins Edna Mae Wilcox, Rena McDonald, and Jenee Oates.

A host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives and friends. She leaves a special cousin/sister Ester Mae Fleet. A special thanks to her cousins Enda Mae Wilcox, Rena McDonald, and Jenee Oates. 

A walk thru will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service & Cremation, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton.
