Martha (Satterfield) Lambert

On October 10, 2020, Martha Satterfield Lambert, 77, passed peacefully to be with God in the arms of her loved ones.

Born on December 23, 1942, in Mecklenburg County, Martha was a loving mother, dedicated wife, and loved to be around her family. She had 9 siblings, 5 children, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 25 nieces/nephews; they all loved her like no other. She was always there to help anyone who needed it. She loved to go out to eat, as well as play Scrabble with her sisters. Martha was feisty and very flirty, especially at the end. She was a funny girl and was always looking for someone to make laugh; when you saw her smile and those beautiful blue eyes you just could not resist her. However, mom did a lot more than just this. She raised children until the very last moment along with running her own cleaning business (Martha’s Cleaning Service) with her daughter for 30 years. Her clients were very sad to see her retire.

Martha Satterfield Lambert is preceded in death by parents: Ethel & Lloyd Satterfield, son: Wayne Long and siblings: Freddy, Jerry, Jimmy, Frankie, Tommy, Irene Kinly, and Mary Lou Wooten.

Martha leaves behind to cherish her memories, children: Chuck Long, Billie Jo Long, Susan Taylor, sister: Sandra Canipe, grandchildren: Chuckie Jr., Dustin, Hunter, Spencer, Emily,  great-grandchildren: Zander, Charlotte, Ellie, Miles, and 25 nieces and nephews. Martha also leaves behind a host of great nieces and nephews…you can imagine how many!

She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
