Mark Miller Hughes (56) of Autryville, NC. beloved husband, father, son, brother grandfather. passed away Thursday, June 9th, 2022 at his home.
Mark was born in Beaufort, SC but grew up all over the country as he was a member of a Marine Corps Family. He graduated from East Bladen High School in 1984 and joined the work force as a diesel mechanic for over 30 years. Mark spent the last eight years in management. Upon his passing, he was employed by Atlantic Emergency Solutions where he grew a love for all First Responders. He was preceded in death by his father, Laurice Miller Hughes; brother, Franklin; sister, Baby Jane; paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Roy Hughes and maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Haywood McDonald.
Mark was an avid fisherman who had a love for the Outer Banks of NC. He loved all of his fur family and petting every dog he met. He was a man of compassion. God’s love showed in how he lived his life, loved his family, and took care of those he worked with and served in his occupation.
Celebration of Mark's Life will be held 5:00 pm on Tuesday June 14 2022, at Long Branch Baptist Church 2868 Minnie Hall Road Autryville, by the Pastor Ricky Spell officiating.
Mark leaves to cherish memories his loving wife of 24 years, Melissa Pope Hughes; daughters, Allison Hughes and fiancé Tyler Reed of Kodak, TN; Emily Hughes of the home; son, Brian Sult and wife Whitney of Clarkton, NC; and grandson, Hunter Sult. Mark was looking forward to the arrival of his granddaughter Myla Miller Reed in August of this year and Mark also leaves his Mother, Jane M. Hughes of White Lake, Siblings, John Hughes and wife Pat of Fayetteville, Matthew Hughes and wife Meredith of Leland, Heather Tart and husband Brian of Elizabethtown and host of nieces and Nephews. Family will receive from 4:00 pm until 5: 00pm June 14 2022 at Long Branch Baptist Church 2868 Minnie Hall Road Autryville and other time at the home 2002 South River Road Autryville.
