ulean Whitted Williamson, affectionately known as Granny by family and close friends, was born on April 3, 1931 to the union of Sandy Whitted Jr. and Mettie Boykin Whitted. Lulean was raised in Sampson County, where she received her formal education and would stay in Sampson County until she married the love of her life, Charles Frank Williamson. They would share a journey that would take them from North Carolina to the new city of Mt. Holly, New Jersey. Lulean found employment at Medford Leas, where she dedicated over 20 years of service.
Unexpectedly and tragically, in 1987, her love would pass away and Lulean stayed in New Jersey for a few more years before picking up and coming back home to her roots of Clinton, NC.
Upon returning to Clinton in 1991, Mother Lulean as her church family called her, would rejoin Big Piney Grove. She remained a devoted and faithful member until the end of her life. While attending Bog Piney Grove she would develop a true and sincere love for her Reverand Dr. K. Dwayne Parrish Sr.
Mother Lulean was known for telling it like it was. Her outspoken and spunky attitude would be an attribute that everyone knew she had. She was a beacon of light and she loved her church family. Her selfless love and dedication was known to all.
Granny enjoyed working in her yard, cooking, and most importantly spending time with her loved ones. She had a special love for her Great Grandson, Elijah, who she basically had in her home since his birth. She loved him dearly and he loved his Granny in return.
