Mother Luelender Lofton Williams was born to the late Coy and Lucinda Lofton on April 22, 1939. She departed this life to be with her Heavenly Father on February 19, 2025.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Union Grove Church of Christ DOC, 716 Lisbon St, Clinton, NC 28328. Elder Quaveon Richardson, Pastor and Elder Mary Williams, Eulogist. Burial will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery located at 3 Sampson St, Clinton, NC 28328.

Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, 10:00-11:00 am, within the Union Grove Chapel.

Mother Williams graduated Johnson County Training School, Smithfield, North Carolina. While there she was a bus driver, Bus #57. Following high school, she graduated Sampson Community College and Johnston Community College. She worked 17 years for Clinton City Schools before she retired.

Mother Williams loved the Lord and accepted Christ at an early age. She was born into a large Christian family and they enjoyed attending church together every Sunday, and often other days in between. She was active and dedicated to many churches, as well as an active missionary. She served at the following churches with her husband: Mt. Zion BCOG, Princeton, NC St. Jude Church of Christ, Warsaw, NC First Church of Christ, Broadway, NC Evergreen United Holy Church, Salemburg, NC, Sampson Chapel Church, Clinton, NC, Johnson Chapel Church, Salemburg, NC New Green Leaf Church, Goldsboro, NC Beulah Chapel Church, Roseboro, NC Princeton Chapel Church, Princeton, NC St. Mark Church, Dunn, NC Pleasant Grove Church, Fayetteville, NC Union Grove Church, Clinton, NC.

She was married to Bishop Robert E. Williams, Sr. This union blessed them with two children, their daughters Elder Mary Williams and Sister Gloria Williams.

Mother Williams was a prayer warrior and was loved by her family unconditionally. She was very firm in her beliefs and her family always knew they could count on her. Mother Williams will be greatly missed.

Mother Williams is survived by her daughters: Elder Mary Williams and Gloria Williams; two brothers: Deacon James (Hilda) Lofton of Stratford, Connecticut and Deacon Glenn (Hattie) Lofton of Smithfield, North Carolina; Sisters-in-Law: Mrs. Alice (Carey) Hughley of Durham, North Carolina, Mrs. Hilda Williams of Clinton, North Carolina, Mrs. Elvira Williams of Seattle, Washington, and Mrs. Veronica Lofton of Garner, NC; Brother-in-Law: Dr. Jesse F. Williams of Fayetteville, North Carolina and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
