LuEllen Robinson Kirby, born to the late Roosevelt Robinson and Penny Underwood Robinson on July 13, 1932, in Clinton North Carolina was the second of five siblings who all proceed her in death; Loretta Garvin; Willie James Robinson (Bud), Sarah Mason, and Henry Robinson. LuEllen peacefully answered God's call on the morning of July 26, 2021, from Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton North Carolina. On July 23, 1951, LuEllen married Albert David Kirby, Sr. who precedes her in death.
“Lu”, as she was called by her grand- and great grandchildren, joined Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church at the age of twelve. She devoutly served as a church clerk, Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School director, and numerous ministries with in her church, and various organizations. She was a graduate of the Sampson County Training School and attended Shaw University in Raleigh North Carolina. Later, she would move onto work many years at Countywide Sewing and retire from the Lundy Packing Company. She joined and was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, True Love Chapter #176. She was a dedicated servant of the Lord and instilled the love for Jesus into her children and grandchildren. She worked hard to provide for her family of five to ensure that they were able to get a good education.
She leaves to mourn; Mary Herring (David), Sherelene Fryar (Victor), Alberta Kirby (Esaie), Rev. Albert Kirby, Jr. (Cynthia); all of Clinton, NC; and Roosevelt Kirby (Kaysee) of Sacramento, CA, sister-in-law Fennie Robinson, special sister Wila Dean Johnson, 12 grand-children; 2 proceed her in death; 18 great-grand; 2 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Sandhill Cemetery in Clinton.
A walk thru will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 12:00 - 5:00 pm at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton.
The family will not be present.
