Liza Ree Beard 80 passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at The Pines at Poughkeepsie in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Liza R. Beard was born in Clinton, NC on December 28, 1941 to Bland and Mary Lou Bennett. She was the eleventh of twelve children. Liza was the mother of one son, Nathaniel Beard (deceased) and the sister of Minnie (Paul) Eason, of Dunn, NC. She attended school in Roseboro, NC.
After high school, Liza moved to Philidelphia, PA, where she was employed by Hershey Company. After many years, she moved to New York where she did cleaning for Sears and Merry Maids for businesses and homes, which she enjoyed and did with enthusiasm. She also used her talents to help women do home improvements and repairs. Finally, Liza ventured into the health care profession and earned her certification as a Home Health Aid for private cases.
In February 1992, Liza accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Soon after she joined Second Baptist Church in Poughkeepsie, NY, where she was a member of the choir and on many committees. She was very gifted in hospitality and often decorated the table settings for church and other events. She was also well known for her cake baking skills. After leaving that church and retiring, she joined Servants of Almighty God Church, Clinton, NC and was given the title of Church Mother.
Mother Liza was always willing to help anyone in need. She often spent her time listening to Gospel Music and watching Gospel videos. Mother Liza went home to be with the Lord on May 16, 2022. In addition to her sister, she leaves a host of loving nieces , nephews and friends.
Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm on Tuesday May 24, 2022 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton, NC 28328. Pastor Brenda Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Sandhill Cemetery, 3 Sampson St, Clinton, NC 28328.
Visitation will take place prior to the service, from 12:00 - 2:00 pm on Tuesday May 24, 2022 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton, NC 28328.
