Linwood Earl Simmons 72 of 113 Becton Lane died Thursday, September 7 2023 at Kenansville Healthcare Center.

Linwood was born in Duplin County on September 6, 1951 to the late Edna Pope and Feneris Simmons. 

In addition to his parents and sister, Linwood is preceded in death by his daughter Amanda Gail and son Linwood Jr. 

Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328. Burial will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery, located off of East Best St. in Warsaw, NC. 

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Friday, September 15, 2023 in Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328.

Linwood leaves to cherish his memory: daughter: Edna and husband James Allen; ex-wife: Claria Lynn Lee; grandsons: Dustin and wife Cynthia of Kenansville, Patrick and wife Jennifer of Faison; three great grandchildren: Daniel, Katlynn, and Alana; sister: Debbie and husband Kenneth White of Faison; brother: Kenneth Ray Simmons of Faison; brother-in-law: Terry and wife Nancy Lee of Roseboro. Also left behind are many loving niece, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
