Clinton,
Lamont Young 42 passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
Lamont received his education from Lancaster Public School system in 1996, Lamont relocated to Durham NC where he continued his education with UDI youth build, in Practical Carpentry, and residential and commercial buildings. Lamont left a signature mark in Durham public housing where he helped construct a home for the elderly off Fayetteville St.
Lamont (Mont ) would help you do most anything as long as long as it wasn’t electrical, from fixing a bike tire, painting, cutting grass cooking the food on the grill.
Lamont was a born artist, he was best known for his drawings, he could take a napkin and draw you a picture that you could frame and be so proud, when he learned to draw on a pencil pad and would make a drawing for your page he was so proud, he was far from being dumb, he was smarter then he gave his self-credit. Lamont was a good brother big or small.
Mont was a very sweet and loving person Mont moved in silence, but you would know that he had been there. You could always find him smiling and laughing and joking about his bunions. Mont carried his heart on his shelve and was overly sensitive and his feeling hurt very easy, he was quit the ladies’ man, Mont wasn’t with out fault but as the saying goes don’t look down on someone unless you are admiring there shoes. His path was his own.
Lamont started trying very hard to turn his life around, working and honest job, reading his Koran and the Bible and comparing the two in translation and enjoyed sharing what he had learned. Lamont had enthusiastic respect for the elderly and would do whatever he could when called on.
He loved his family every one of us, Mont even reached out to the rest of his sibling and found Tachana Wyatt (Brandon) and so excited that he was going to finally get to see her. He great admiration for Greg who in she eyes could do No wrong, he loves his nieces and nephews and only wanted them to do the right thing and not follow the path that he laid,
Mont could be caught watching the children with one eye open and no eye closed, but he knew what they were doing. But thing for sure he was not going to watch any baby girls because he was not going to change their diapers,
Lamont is preceded in Death by his mother: Elnora Faison W. Simpson, sister: Marla A. Winder, niece: Kendra L. McEwan, nephew: Selvin H. McEwan Jr.. Both maternal and paternal grand parents
