Joy Ann Ballance 68, of 264 Jerry Hudson Ln., passed away the evening of Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond, VA.

Joy was born on September 24, 1956 in Sampson County, NC to the late Annie Lee Carter and Harry Ray Ballance. She loved to spend her time crocheting and making flower arrangements. Joy also enjoyed cooking meals for family and friends. She could often be found enjoying old movies or watching her favorite shows, Andy Griffith and Walker Texas Ranger. 

Graveside Service will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, December 12, 2024 in Springvale (Clinton) Cemetery, located off W. Elizabeth Street in Clinton, NC. Rev. Wilda Faircloth, officiating. 

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC.

In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her sister, Windy Ballance.

Those left to cherish the memory of Joy are her siblings: Cindy (Mary) Boykin and Gloria Dawn Ballance, both of Clinton, NC; niece: Teshia Ballance of Charlotte, NC; nephews: Darious (Tara) Boykin II of Garland, NC and Yaseer Henry of Clinton, NC; and great nieces: Trinity Boykin and Taylor Alford.
