John Stanley Price was born July 9, 1955, in Sampson County, North Carolina to Annie Mae Royal and the late Willie (Dick) Pride. He attended Sampson County Schools and graduated from Hobbton High School in 1973.
Funeral Service will be held at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 1:00pm
In 1974, John enlisted in the United States Army and started his career in Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He completed tours-of-duty in Korea and Germany. He served over 12 years with the United States Army and completed his military career as a staff sergeant back in Fort Jackson. After his military service, he worked as a truck driver for over 30 years and received many awards for safe driving. He loved to laugh and to tell jokes, and he was always a very proud and neatly dressed man. John was preceded in death by his father Willie (Dick) Pride and three sisters: Mary Janice King, Martha Cox Leach and Linda Marie Williams.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Emily Price of 25 years, his mother, Annie Mae Royal, sister, Dollie Ann McLaurin and brother, Willie James Price, Jr, all of Newton Grove, NC, his son, Djonnique Kessler-Devonne, of Mount Olive, three sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, two granddaughters, Kayaja and Kamaija, of Columbia, South Carolina, his beloved caregiver and nephew, Donovan Henry and a host of nieces and nephews.
