John Robert Britt

John Robert Britt, age 89, of 2809 Providence Road passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Lawndale Manor Assisted Living in Garner, NC, surrounded by his loving family.

John was born in Sampson County in 1935 to the late Henry and Clyda Davis Britt. John was the widower of his wife of 61 years, Rena Turner Britt. He was a master plumber for many years and was highly regarded in the builder community around Raleigh. He loved family vacations at the lake and the beach and enjoyed fishing, playing cards, building birdhouses, and putting together beautiful puzzles. He was a passionate fan of the NC State Wolfpack and Nascar. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

John was preceded in death by sisters Mamie Lee Spell, Clara Holland, Anne Bryant and Edith Lee, as well as brothers Sherrill Britt and Carl Britt.

John is survived by his two sons, Ricky Britt and his wife Karen of Raleigh, and Kenny Britt and his wife Terry of Raleigh as well as two grandchildren, Christopher Britt and Dena' LaRocca, and three great-grandchildren, Hanna Guin, Caitlin Guin, and Christopher Guin.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Colonial Heights Free Will Baptist Church at 1140 West Elizabeth Street, Clinton, NC, by Pastor Aaron Tyner officiating, burial at Spring Vale Cemetery. Family will receive friends before the service from 1:30 to 2:00 pm at the church.
