Jimmy Lee Owens, Jr., 52, of Clinton, NC, transitioned from this life to eternal rest on June 13, 2025, at REX Medical Hospital.

Funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at New Life Outreach Ministries, located at 708 Sampson St, Clinton, NC 28328

Visitation will be held 4:00-6:00 pm on Friday, June 27, 2025 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC as well as the hour prior to the service, 12:00-1:00 pm, within the New Life Outreach Ministries chapel.

Jimmy was many things – strong, kind, humble, and full of wisdom. He was someone to share a laugh with or just sit in comfortable silence. Jimmy was also a devoted father and friend. His presence was a blessing. Jimmy was a giver and a big part of the community, having coached football and basketball for fifteen years for the Wallace Recreation Department. More importantly, Jimmy was a man of God. He served as a trustee at Oakey Plain Missionary Baptist Church. Those who knew him were blessed to have him as long as we did, thanks to God.

Jimmy was born on October 9, 1972, in Clinton, NC to Mr. Jimmie Owens and Pansie Owens. He enlisted into the Army right after high school and worked as a Communications Specialist and Airborne Soldier. Jimmy’s last job was at the House of Raeford, where he worked as a supervisor for many years. Jimmy loved his Dallas Cowboys, fishing, and cooking out. He touched the lives of so many.

He is survived by his mother, Pansie Owens, one son, Jahan Owens of Jacksonville, NC, four brothers: Glenwood Owens of Knightdale, NC, Michael Owens of Clinton, NC, Lorenzo Owens of Hope Mills, NC, and Anthony Owens of Clinton, NC. He was an uncle to six nieces and three nephews and family to a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
