Jeannie Williams Obituary

Jeannie Mae Williams 73 of 245 Jerry Lane Salemburg passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025 at Highsmith Rainey Hospital. 

Jeannie was born November 24, 1951 in Sampson County to the late Billy Atkinson and Madee ButlerAtkinson. She was preceded in death by her parents, a younger
brother Adrian Atkinson who passed away when he was only 3years old and - just two years ago -- a grandson – Dewey Addison Smith. 
Jeannie grew up in Baltimore where she attended school. After several summers with and visits with her grandparents – Ernest and Lessie Butler long time members of our church -

Jeannie attracted the attention of and befriended a member of our community – Jerry Williams. Jeannie became associated withour community when she and Jerry were married December 30,
1968.Shortly after arriving in our community Jeannie became a member of our church and faithfully attended and participated in our many activities including our Sunday School and choir.
Jeannie worked in two of the major industries in the area –Morganite and Hamilton Beach. After nearly 20 years Jeannie retired from that industry. She worked and attended school
and earned degrees in cosmetology and business from Sampson Community College. The two Jerry and Jeannie’s union was born a baby daughter Chandra. Jeannie and Jerry helped her to
rear two children – Addison & Shonie.

Home Going Service will be held at 2:00pm Monday April 14 2025  at Elizabeth Missionay Baptist Church 2316 Maxwell Road Autryville.burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 Jeannie leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband of 55 years -- Jerry, a daughter Chandra, step-daughter Benita, foster daughter Gabrilla, granddaughter Shonie Smith and 4 great grandchildren –Hailey, Ryleigh, Kazi and Kellian. A few years ago, because of her illness, Jeannie became unable to attend many services that she often participated in. We have missed her presence in our congregation, her input in our Sunday School discussions – her voice in our senior choir. Most of all we will continue to miss her Spirit!

Viewing will be held from 12:00 pm until 2:00pm Monday April 14 2025 at the Church and other times at 1712 Butler Road Salemburg.
