Jean Beckner (Lamb), 92, of Wilmington, NC, formerly of Fayetteville, NC, passed away peacefully at home November 18, 2022 surrounded by family.

Jean was born October 29, 1930 to Joseph Lamb and Dorcas Lamb (Ward) in Yorkshire, England. After Jean graduated from Church of England School, she went on to join Her Majesty's Armed Forces. After graduating Sampson Community College with a degree in Early Childhood Education, Jean started her career in daycare. Jean's passion was always babies. Jean spent nearly six decades dedicated to raising her children, step-children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Goshen New Life Church, 3911 Suttontown Rd, Faison, NC 28341.

In 1954, Jean married Clifford Dewey Simpson, Jr. They are both survived by their two children together, Perihan Warren (Simpson) (Timothy Warren), and Deniz Dawson (Simpson) (William Dawson). In 1971, Jean married the love of her life, Harold Glen Beckner and became a mother to his children as well: Glen Allen Beckner, Michael Beckner (Amanda Beckner), Brian Beckner, Tammy Sullivan (Beckner), and Sonya Hickman (Beckner). Jean is also survived by her grandchildren, Jessica Jean Beckner, Danielle Star Holzworth (Simpson) (Daniel Holzworth), Justin Riewestahl (Charlotte Riewestahl), Evelyn Shields-Cowley (Jeremy Cowley), Jace Beckner (Autumn Beckner), Lauren Dawson and her sixteen great-grandchildren, including Chesney Anne Gaskin, who she helped raise.
