Janice (Norris) Thornton 75, of 4932 Harper House Rd., passed away Friday, January 10, 2025 at her home.

Janice was born in Johnston County on February 15, 1949 to the late Joseph A. Norris and Eva Knowles. She worked in the healthcare field as a CNA and attended church services at  Stones Creek Advent Christian Church in Benson, NC, until her decline in health would no longer allow her to.

Graveside service will take place at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Mill Creek Christian Church, 747 Mill Creek Church Rd, Four Oaks, NC 27524. Pastor Scott Johnson, officiating.

Those who preceded Janice in death include her son: Sam Thornton; siblings: Stacy Norris, Charles Norris, Donald Norris, and Judy Norris; & sisters-in-law: Dean Norris, Ann Norris, Barbara Norris and Elameta Norris. 

Left to cherish the memory of Janice are her son: John Thornton and wife, Cindy of Four Oaks, NC; siblings: Hugh Norris and wife, Joan of Newton Grove, Roy Norris and wife Peggy of Dunn, NC & Robert Norris and wife, Rochelle of Erwin, NC; daughter-in-law: Lori Thornton of Erwin, NC; and grandchildren: Maddison Thornton and Kinzie Thornton.
