James Starling King, born July 15, 1950 in Clinton, North Carolina, to Esther King and the late Alease Monk King, peacefully answered his Heavenly Father’s voice the afternoon of July 21 ,2020 at the Brian Health and Retirement Center, Clayton, North Carolina after an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his sister, Suella King.
Starling graduated from Hargrove High School and moved to Washington, DC where he worked for the Federal Reserve Board and where he met and married Dolwyn who preceded him in death. He continued to work there until his health declined and was forced to retire. After retirement, he moved back to Clinton, North Carolina and reunited with his father and other family members.As his health continue to decline, he developed a faith in God and a belief in the power of pray. He had a pleasant personality and love to tease and joke. Although, he was in constant pain and his health continued to decline, one could never know the pain he was enduring.
A Celebration of James Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton.
Starling leaves to cherish his memory: his father, Esther King, special friends, Gladys and Teresa Raynor, and special cousins --Anthony Herring, Dottie Jones and Harvey Monk and a host of other cousins and family members, and friends.
A walk through will be held prior to the service from 12:00 pm 1:00 pm on Wednesday, July, 29, 2020 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service & Cremation, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton.
