James Jefferson Jr. Obituary

James Lester Junior Jefferson (June) transitioned from earthly life to eternal life on
Friday, October 5, 2018. June was born in Sampson County to the late James Wesley
and Livie Holmes Jefferson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Lee
Jefferson.
June attended school in the Sampson County District. Throughout his life, he worked
several local farmers. June, also known as the Clutch Man, was an active and
dedicated softball player with the Clinton Sluggers for several years. June was called
“Clutch Man” because the guys would put the bat in his hand for a needed hit during a
crucial time in the game…...and 9 out of 10 he came through with that needed HIT. He
gained many lasting friends during the years he played softball and through the years
just being June.
His favorite saying, “You won't bet nothing”. He joined Holly Grove Church at a very
early age. He has attended his community church under the leadership of Pastor
Elveria Underwood. Pastor Underwood stepped in as his caretaker and helped him any
way she could.

Home Going Service will be held at 1:00 pm  on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Holly Grove Disciple Church with Pastor Donald Terrell Powell officiating, burial will be held privately at the family's request
