James Goodman Jr. Obituary

Salemburg,

James Henry Goodman Jr., 68, passed away at his home on December 29, 2020.

James H Goodman, Jr was the son of the late James Henry Goodman, Sr and Mary J. Goodman. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters Denise Goodman, Clara L. Smith, and Rachael A. Goodman-Woods.

James attended Sampson County Schools and was very active in high school football. James was a middle guard (# 65) for the illustrious Clinton High School Dark Horses. He graduated from Clinton High Schools Class of 1970.

James became a father at a very young age and decided he needed to find his own way and relocated to Newburgh, New York. While living in New York he found a wife (Mary Mc Neil). James began a career in the textiles industry where he quickly became a master of the craft. He worked 15+ years for Tarkett Tiles Industry.

James loved his father very much and would visit North Carolina during the summer months to take his father fishing. He would enjoy many family activities with his younger siblings and inspire us to find our own way.

James relocated home to North Carolina in 1986 where he established a more settled life with family and friends. James was employed at Smithfield Packing Co., and Duboise Strapping until his health began to decline.
