James Michael Cromartie 56 of 206 Cardinal Street formally of Garland passed away at his home on Thursday, July 24, 2014.
James Michael Cromartie Sr. was born December 12, 1957 in Bladen County. He was born to the late James and Eva Cromartie.
James attended East Bladen High School and had an occupation in surveying, plumbing and also multi-tasking on several jobs. He loved taming and riding horses, driving race cars and riding motorcycles. He was kind and showed love to everyone. He was preceded in death by a brother Dennis Cromartie and aunt Clara Barner.
A home going service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 30,2014 at Hope Valley Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton, with Rev. Dont'e Murphy officiating, burial will follow in the Garland cemetery.
James Michael Cromartie Sr. leaves to cherish two sons: James M. Cromartie Jr. and James D Cromartie, one daughters: Nekaya Cromartie, two grandchildren: Jamesha Cromartie, Ki'Najah Cromartie and raised four children as his own: Rasheeda Pierce, Michael Banks, Rodney Lamb, and Travis Newton and a special friend Nichole Newkirk. Also a brother: Jackie Cromartie (Alma Cromartie), and four sisters: Landa Monroe, Jacqueline Smith, Parnell Johnson, and Janice Cromartie, two aunts: Shirley Thomas, and Alice Boykin, three uncles: Louis Edwards, Jerome & Eric Bronson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A public visitation will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm with family present from 6:00 - 7:00pm at Hope Valley Funeral Service & Cremation, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton.
Family will also receive friends at the home of his brother Jackie Cromartie 3180 Lamb Road Garland
