With profound sadness, we announce that Jackie Ray Mosley peacefully answered God’s call from this earthly life on December 9, 2024, at Cape Fear Hospital in Fayetteville, NC. Born to Doretha Royal and James Robert Mosley, Jackie’s life was a testament to love, hard work, and devotion to family and friends.

Jackie Ray Mosley was educated in the Sampson County School System and later graduated from Union High School. He began his career as a heavy equipment operator with B&B Pavement, where he dedicated over 18 years of service. Later, he joined Smithfield Packing Company until his health began to decline. His strong work ethic, loyalty, and kind heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Union Grove Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, 716 Lisbon St, Clinton, NC 28328. 

Visitation to be held 2:00-7:00 pm, with family present from 6:00-7:00 pm, on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328.

Jackie was a man of warmth, compassion, and love. He had a special way of touching the lives of everyone he connected with. His presence will be missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Robert Mosley; brother, James Almon Mosley and Eddie Wright; son, Rahiem Washington; niece, Lakawsha “Neat” McIntyre; grandfathers, James H. Mosley and Leon Royal; grandmothers, Donnie Callie Royal and Lessie Mae Mosley; aunt: Rochelle Royal and Mary Helen Bullock and uncles, Charles Royal, Charles F. Mosley, Raymond Mosley and Marvin Royal.

Jackie Ray Mosley leaves to cherish his memory: Loving Wife: Ernestine Mosley of North Carolina; Mother: Doretha Royal Mosley; Daughter: Pebbles Spearman; Bonus Daughter: Nicole Wilson; Bonus Son: Woodrow Wilson; Special Friend: Gregory Thomas; Niece: Valencia Fasion; Nephew: Quincy Aycock; Cousins: Faye Royal & Judy Easton; and Aunt: Brula Mae Vann. In addition, he leaves behind a host of beloved nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will continue to honor his legacy of love, strength, and kindness.

Jackie Ray Mosely’s life was a shining example of devotion to family and friends, a hard-working spirit, and a loving heart. Though his journey on earth has ended, his legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

Rest in peace, Ray- Ray. Your light and love will never fade. Your love and our cherished memories will forever hold a special place in my heart. Love your wife, Tina.
