Hubert Bruce “Stoney” Johnson 75 of 169 NC 55 highway died Thursday May 11th 2023 at his home with his family.
Mr. Johnson was born July 25th 1947 in Johnston County by the late JW and Sarah Johnson Thornton. He retired from the Department of Transportation of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his Sister Judy Carloyn Moore, Brother Douglas Ray Johnson, a sister-in-law (beloved Sweetheart) Debbie Ann Johnson, nephew Donald Eugene Moore, and niece Crystal Gail Stanley.
Mr. Johnson was survived by his beloved dog Janie, nephews Timmy Raines and fiance Christine Partin of the home, Tony Moore and wife Tammy of Dunn, nephew but raised as a son Greg Johnson and wife Monica of Newton Grove, nephew Michael Moore and fiance Amie Price of Bentonville, and a niece Heather Avery and Husband John of Richlands and a host of many great nieces and nephews, and a long time friend James Jones of Dunn.
Bruce had the love for the Rodeo Life so much that he worked for Willis McLamb Rodeo out of Benson NC. He enjoyed riding horses, mowing grass, riding around, vehicles, animals, and hanging out at the shop with his friend.
Funeral Service will be held 5:00 p.m. at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service 1246 Hobbton Hwy Clinton Tuesday May 16th 2023 by Pastor Bill West officiating, Burial to follow in Bethel Original Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery 3168 Hwy 96, Four Oaks, NC 27524.
Family will receive friends at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service 1246 Hobbton Highway Monday evening May the 15th 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and other times at the home, 169 NC 55 Highway Dunn North Carolina.
