Deacon, Harvey Rich Lee 81 of 4736 Moseley Ave. Clinton passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at his home.

Deacon Harvey Lee, affectionately known by family members and friends as Bobby, was born on August 1, 1939, Norfolk, Virginia. He was predeceased in death by his father Elmer Layton, stepfather: Yim Lee, one son:; Mark Anthony Lee, two brothers: Soong and Jerry Lee, two sisters: Peggy Johnson and Itestia Maxwell.

At an early age, he joined Andrews Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. His education began at Rowan Community School, and he graduated from Sampson Training High School in Clinton, NC. Upon graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, Eunice Kellon. They moved to Newark, New Jersey, and there they raised a family of three, Harvey, Jr., Mark Anthony and Sionhan. His life’s occupations included factory worker, part time carpenter and painter.

After divorcing from his first marriage, he remarried again to the late Essie Marsh Lee. He moved back to Clinton, North Carolina and reunited with his home church. He gained employment with Sampson Regional Hospital where he worked for twenty years in various departments. Bobby loved his family and reunited in marriage again with Eunice. He loved being a servant of the church and was faithful in his service until the end. Even in his ailments and sickness, he continued to serve and supported the church. He sang in the Senior Choir, The Male Chorus, Superintendent of Sunday School, The Noon Day Prayer Ministry, Deacon Ministry, Laymen League, My Brothers Keeper Ministry, a bible scholar and teach of God’s word.

Funeral Service will be held 4:00pm on Saturday September 11th, 2021 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel 1246 Hobbton Hwy, Clinton, NC 

Deacon Lee leaves cherished memories to his wife Eunice, sons: Harvey Jr. (Sherrie) of Newark, NJ, Anthony Marsh (Michelline) of Conyers, Georgia, his daughters: Siobhan Lee of Peoria, Arizona, his mother: Mrs. Beatrice Lee of the home, one brother: Anthony (Marilyn) of the home, two sisters: Gail Mitchell (Dan) and Wilhelmina Lee of the home, brother-in-law: Larry Kellon (Marilyn) of Clinton, NC and Alice Kellon Tolan of Landing, NJ, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
