Gerald Thompson Obituary

Gerald Ray Thompson transitioned from earth to glory on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Sampson Regional Center.

Gerald Ray, also called “Jerry Ray,” is the son of the late Albert Thompson and Elouise Underwood Thompson

Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Whosoever Will Disciples of Christ Church, located at 76 Shirley Lane Newton Grove, NC. Interment will follow in Cobb Cemetery, 329 Juniper Rd., Faison, NC.

Visitation will be held the hour prior to the service, 11:00 am -12:00 pm, within the Whosoever Will chapel.

Proceeded in death brothers include Albert Jr. Thompson, David Freeman Thompson, sisters include Annie Pearl Brunson, Coleen Becton (Connell), and Betty Doris Hicks (Roland), and Bessie Thompson Hargrove (Ralph).

Loving and cherished memories will linger in the hearts of his children, daughters, Leslie Morrisey of Martin, SC, Cheryl Thompson of Newton Grove, NC, Kiyonna Smalls of Pennsauken, NJ, and Marva Jeaneane, Glen Burnie, MD, and sons Jeffrey Aycock of Warsaw, NC, Anthony Thompson of Newton Grove, NC, Shelby (Carla) Ingram of Pennsauken, NJ, Raymond Smalls of Trenton, NC, Michael Balance of Baltimore, NC, Gerald Ray Thompson Jr. (Andrea) of Stone Mountain, Georgia, brother, Jimmy Thompson (Joyce) of Pennsauken, NJ and along with 37 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren, plus host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and special friend, Greath Brunson.
