Frances Killett Obituary

On Sunday, September 22, 2024 the Divine Master called Frances Denise Royal Killett 58, from labor to rest.  She was born May 6, 1966 to the late Frances E. Royal and the late Rubin Cooper in Sampson County, North Carolina. 

She graduated from Lakewood High School in 1984.  Later, she attended Sampson Community College Clinton, NC. As a child, she worshipped at Mingle Hill Disciples Church Salemburg, NC. Seeing a need for companionship on August 21, 1999 she married Sidney E. Killett. To this union there are five children.  After marriage, she united with Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church Clinton, NC. 

Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 45 Red Hill Church Rd, Clinton, NC 28328.

Visitation will be held prior to the service, 12:00-1:00 pm, within the chapel.

Denise as we affectionately called her worked as a certified nursing assistant.  She worked at Sampson Home Health Clinton, NC for many years.  After moving to Wilmington, NC, she was employed at Liberty Hospice Care from 2006 until her death.

Denise loved her family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and in-law.  She was a good cook.  She was known for cooking boston butt, and baked ziti.  She enjoyed life, you could tell by her unforgettable smile and loud infectious laugh. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Sidney E. Killett; Parents, Grandparents, Brothers: Esthel Butler, Wilbert Royal, and Ronald Royal; Special Aunt: Willa Dean Cross; Father-In- law, Robert Killett; Grandson, Kayden Rich, Special Niece Kimya Lloyd, and Special Nephew, Dana Royal.

She leaves to cherish her memories. A daughter, Ebone' Sellars of Wilmington, NC; Four sons Reuben Sellars of Wilmington, NC, Season (Shanekqua) Lee of Wilmington, NC, Sidney Amonte' Killett of Clinton NC, and Kevin Ruffin of Clinton, NC; Bonus Son, Elijah Williams of Wilmington, NC; Ten grandchildren:  Omar, Datrell, Jordan, Chase, Isabella, Wynter, Harmony, Giovanni, Alecxavier, and Malichi; Three brothers, Ernest McLean of Hempstead, NY, Donald Royal of Hempstead, NY, and Glen Royal of Fayetteville, NC; Two sisters Gloria Lloyd of Rex, GA and Gail Owens- Gibbs of Charlotte, NC; Mother-in-law, Barbara Killett of Clinton, NC; Two brother-in-laws, four sister-in-laws, a significant other Melvin Carr, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
