Evelyn E. Bennett peacefully transitioned this life at 71 years old on Friday May 26, 2023 at Mcleod Hospital Regional Medical Center in Florence SC. in the presence of her family.

Evelyn Evans Bennett was born January 4,1952 the fifth child and youngest daughter of the late Eddie Nelson Evans and Della Lee Evans in Sampson County North Carolina.

She was program committee chair for many years and served proudly. She was also on the Board of Trustees and served in any capacity needed. She visited the sick when she was well for many years with her eldest sister, Alice.

Evelyn attended school at Sampson High and graduated from Clinton High, class of 1970. After graduation Evelyn was employed at Carolina Telephone in Clinton and transferred to Fayetteville later. Opting out of relocating further out, Evelyn took a position with H & R Block for several years. Later she worked for Miracle Ear for several years in Fayetteville NC.

Evelyn Evans married the late Charlie Ray Bennett where they lived in Stedman. Not having any natural children, she was a devoted and doting auntie to her nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews (Jamere and Nasir).

Evelyn was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Nelson Evans, mother, Della Lee Evans, husband, Charlie Ray Bennett, sister, Alice Evans Newkirk, and brother, Terry Lee Evans. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

Left to cherish her memory are Rev. Joseph N. Evans, Margaret E. Allen (Knox), Eddie M. Evans (Helen), Aunt Mary Bryant, James Bennett (Mary), Roy Lee Bennett (Gloria), and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her special friend Doris Small, who she felt close to like a daughter.
