Ella Mae Finnin Price was the third child born (along with her twin brother Everette) to the late James L. Finnin and Grace Underwood Finnin on December 1, 1923 in Austin, Texas.
She departed this life on May 17, 2024 in Clinton, North Carolina at the age of 100 years old.
She attended the Austin Public Schools including the Old L.C. Anderson high school. On April 24, 1948, she united in Holy Matrimony to Walter Price, Jr. To this union three children were born: Darryl, Gerald and Michele.
After moving back to Texas from New York, she joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of the late Rev. G.V. Clark.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Gerald and two grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were five sisters; Sarah Lucille Elder, Marguerite Tasby, Beulah Williams, Mary (Henrietta) Martin and Inez Boothe; four brothers, Everete Finnin (twin), Horace Finnen, Harvey Finnen, and John Finnin.
She is survived by her son, Darryl Price (Sandra) of Clinton North Carolina; daughter, Michele Price; sister, Madeline Davis; brother, Marvin (Henry) Finnin, sister-in-law, Emma Finnen; two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A committal service will occur Friday, May 24, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Cook-Walden Memorial Hill Cemetery, 14501 N Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
