Elizabeth Kay Ann Koster 46 passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Harmony Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kinston.
Services are incomplete and will be announced by Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Services.
Elizabeth was born in Missouri on October 30, 1978, to Hallie Wayne Mitchem and the late Linda Kay Goodnight. She had a deep love for the beach and her favorite color was purple. Elizabeth will be most remembered for how she made those around her feel. She never knew a stranger. If you were fortunate enough to spend any amount of time with Elizabeth, then you were her friend. She was quick to ask how you were doing and bring a smile to any room she entered. Most of all, Elizabeth was thankful for any little thing that was done for her. She always made a habit of thanking those around her for their kindness and made sure you knew she appreciated you.
Those who preceded Elizabeth in passing are her mother: Linda Kay Arnall; both sets of grandparents: Grandma & Grandpa Goodnight and Noble Gene & Helen Stallings Mitchem; an uncle: Phillip Mitchum; and the love of her life and boyfriend: Duncan Smith.
Left to cherish the memories Elizabeth leaves behind are her father: Hallie Wayne Mitchem of Pink Hill, NC; brother: Noble Gene Wayne Mitchem & wife, Tilly of Arizona; uncles: Jack and Jerry; aunts: Susie, Sarah, and Mary Ann; nephews: Elijah Noble, Ezekiel David, Isaiah Clayton, Emmanuel Jacob, and Zephaniah Franklin all of Arizona; nieces: Isain Bell Grace and Adara Ruby both of Arizona; and her beloved 4-legged companion and fur baby: Penny.
