Drew Abernathy, 67, of Wilmington, NC, died on September 8, 2024.

He was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania in 1957 on April Fool’s Day and if you knew him you know that was his personality. He was a man of many words and never met a stranger no matter how many miles from home he was.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date per the families request.

Drew was preceded in death by parents David and Margy Abernathy, his nephew Ryan Owens. Drew is survived by his daughters Alyson Abernathy (Robert), Courtney Cox (Jason) , his grandson Tyler Rosak, his nieces Brittni Owens and Madelynn McDougald as well as his sister Karen Owens. Drew also had many other children that he would claim as his own grandchildren and was proud to be their Papa. Though his relationship wasn't permanent with Cyndi Pearson they shared their two daughters and remained friends afterwards.
