Dora was born in Sampson County on October 27, 1964, to the late Gene Lucas and Judy McMillian. Dora was a woman whose warmth and love touched everyone she knew. Her devotion to her family was the cornerstone of her existence, and she cherished every moment spent as a wife and mother. For 20 years, Dora was a valued employee at Dubose Steel. Her commitment and hard work were appreciated by her colleagues, and she formed lasting friendships throughout her career.
Dora found joy in the simple things. She loved the feeling of sand between her toes at the beach, creating lasting memories at White Lake, and losing herself in dance and music. Her passion for cooking brought delicious meals to the table, and she found excitement going to real estate sales and hunting for a good deal. Each of these pastimes brought her immense happiness and shaped the vibrant person we all remember.
Above all else, Dora's family was the center of her universe. Her love and dedication knew no bounds, and she poured her heart into creating a warm and nurturing home. She was a constant source of support, encouragement, and unconditional love.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Judy Lucas, as well as a brother, Ronald Lucas.
Those left to cherish the memories Dora leaves behind include her beloved husband: Donnie Autry of the home; daughter: Judy Lynn Hall of Roseboro; son: Donnie Lucas Autry of the home; stepson: Donnie Garrett Autry of Elizabethtown; and siblings: Tammy Lynn Holland (Greg) of Faison and Steven Lucas, of Roseboro.
Dora's legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love will be forever remembered by her family and friends.
