It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dierdre McPherson, 45. Dierdre peacefully transitioned this life on Friday, August 11, 2023, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville NC.
Dierdre McPherson was born on August 26, 1977, in Clinton NC, to The Late Lucille McPherson. Dierdre was a bright spark from the very beginning. She received her education from the Clinton City School system and was a graduate of the class of 1997. Dierdre discovered a passion for singing at a very young age. She was a faithful member of Smith Chapel Church. Dierdre was a beautiful person inside and out with a big heart and would help anyone in need. She also loved cooking, dancing, watching “The First 48”, as well as laughing and joking with her family and friends. She was a sustaining force in the lives of her family and friends. Dierdre was a fierce defender of her children, family, and friends. Dierdre will most certainly be missed. A stranger to none, Dierdre touched many lives through her gift of song and the impression that she left will not be forgotten.
Funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 4442 Bonnetsville Rd, Clinton, NC 28328. Pastor Perry Lee'Monde Parker, officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2:00-6:00 pm, with family present from 5:00-6:00 pm, on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328.

One son: Dominic McPherson; Three daughters: LaKadyn McPherson, Desiah Taylor, and Legacy McPherson, all of Fayetteville NC.; Two grandchildren: Gianna McPherson and Kyaire McPherson; Three sisters: La’Toya McPherson of Clinton NC, Joslyn Renee Colvin of Fayetteville NC, and Katina Colvin Robinson of Fayetteville NC; God sister: Anitra Wilson of Willow Springs NC; Three nieces: Kyliah Bowden, Anyla Bowden, and SaNia Bowden, all of Clinton, NC; One nephew: Jyan Bowden of Clinton NC; special sisters (Mother Board) Misty (Mavis) Jones, Kenyatta (Cathleen) Clark, Tiffany (Pearl) Smith, Quinn (Inez) Cummings, Latoya (Elizabeth) Bennett-Price, Niketha (Naomi) Jones and Lytta (Gertrude) Oates-Grey; special brothers: Perry Lee’Monde Parker and Bryan Williams; special friend: Andrea McNeil and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
