Derek Oliver Obituary

Derek Zy’mir Oliver was born October 13th, 2017, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. On Friday, July 2nd, 2021, Derek transitioned from his earthly home.

Derek was the son of Chantel & Lyman Oliver. Derek was the “bossman.” He loved making up his own songs. He loved riding his bike and like Olivia, he also loved Cocomelon.

In addition , he is preceded in death by his grandmother, Connie Joyner & sister, Layla Oliver.

A Home Going Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Lakewood High School, 245 Lakewood School Road, Salemburg with Evangelist Lashonta Tatum officiating, burial will follow in the Bearskin Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

A Walk thru will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service & Cremation, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton.

Derek leaves to cherish his precious memories: Parents: Chantel & Lyman Oliver, Bonus parent: Jasmine Simpson. Brothers: Daishawn Oliver, Jaden Simpson, & Landon Simpson. Grandparents: James (Ida) Williams, Lyman (Estelle) Oliver, Sr & Anthony (Carolyn) Simpson. Aunts: Olivia Scott, Sasha Oliver, Sequoia Oliver, LaWanda (Richard) Green, Synitra Parker, Chaunda (Michael) Hall & Ti'Nisha Joyner. Uncles: Mark Simpson, Brandon Oliver, Charles (LaTarsha) Howard & Carland (Aleena) Howard. Godparents: Joey Miller & James (Lashonta) Tatum and Godmother:La'Kesia Chance.
