At approximately 0411, June 2, 2025 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC, Dean Christopher Murphy aka Chris, was called home. The son of Geneva B. Williams and the late Konolius Brunson, Dean was born on April 11, 1963.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 6, 2025 at Poplar Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 163 Poplar Grove Church Ln, Faison, NC 28341. Rev. Willie C. Alford, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will take place 2:00-6:00 pm, with family present 5:00-6:00 pm, on Thursday, June 5, 2025 in Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328.
Chris was a 1981 graduate of Clinton High School. After high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force for several years. He resided in Wilmington, NC for many many years and worked as a painter before moving back to Clinton where he continued his painting career.
He is proceeded in death by his daddy: Konolius Brunson; sisters: Teresa Bannerman and Teresa Murphy; and brothers: Harold Bell, Lorenzo Brunson, and Willie Brunson.
Chris leaves to cherish his memories his wife: Sandra Murphy; son: Varan Bryant; his mother: Geneva Williams; one sister: Priscilla Clark; six brothers: James Murphy, Konolius Brunson (Diane), Josep Brunson (Barbara), Carl Brunson, James Brunson, and Jimmy Brunson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Chris also leaves his special friend: Connie Murphy.
