Corenia (Murphy) Morrisey 64, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC.
Corenia C. (Murphy) Morrisey’s Life Story Born on September 08, 1960, in Sampson County NC, to the late Mozelle Murphy, she was an only child.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 1, 2024 at New Vision Christian Church, 2102 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328. The family will recieve guests one hour prior to the service, 10:00-11:00 am within the church.
Burial will take place at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, Novemeber 6, 2024 at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 8220 Bragg Blvd, Spring Lake, NC 28390.
Corenia was educated in the Sampson County School system; she attended Union High School and Sampson Community College where she earned a Associate Degree. She served in the U.S. Army in 1979. She later met her husband of 24yrs. Rev Randolph Morrisey while working at Food Lion many years later.
Randolph and Corenia combined their families to raise 6 children. She loved God and would write down various scriptures to help encourage herself during her spiritual/physical trials and tribulations. Corenia held various positions that showcased her beautiful generous spirit and love of people (Mary Grans Nursing Home, Foodlion, Dollar Tree, etc.). Corenia enjoyed hobbies such as crossword puzzles, visiting family & friends, spending time with her grandkids, watching her favorite TV shows, Chicago P.D., The Equalizer, Will Trent, Elsbeth, Found, NCIS (She would always say she would’ve made a great detective, lol). Her passions have always been helping others and supporting her family/friends near and far.
Corenia was preceded in death by her mother the late Mozelle Murphy and her Grandparents Jacob Murphy and Sallie Mae Mcknight.
Corenia leaves to cherish her memories, Husband of 24yrs Rev Randolph Morrisey, a son Ricardo Correa Jr. (Marion), 2 daughters Sallie White (Curtis) Jasman Robinson (Benjamin) 2 Step-Daughters Consuela Whitted (Frankie), Kayla Wicker (Joseph) along with a host of grandchildren. a host of cousins, close friends (Jackie, Linda, Brenda, Noemi, Mamie, Annie).
