H Cliff Thornton 43, of 4495 Taylors Bridge Hwy, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024 at his home.

Cliff was born in Cumberland County on June 10, 1981 to Hubert Glenn Thornton and the late Donna Partida.

Cliff was known as the “fix it all”. No matter the situation at hand, Cliff would find a way. To his step children, he was the best cook. His family feels that most of these cooking skills came from Jimmie Lewis, the late Donald Lewis, the late Donald Lewis Sr, and the late Wanda Penny at Lewis’s Barbeque. Cliff could also scale, cook and fry the best fish thanks to Tyndall’s Seafood. To his wife, Amanda, Cliff wasn’t just a husband but a true friend. To his father, Cliff was a loving child whom loved to fish and just spend good quality time. To his brother, Terrance (his best friend), there was nothing that come between them. Their relationship was unbreakable. To his friends, he was a brother, one they could call on for anything.

A Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, July 22, 2024 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328.

The Family will receive friends and visitors after the service, from 7:00-8:00 pm, and other times at the home of his wife Amanda, 762 Sharecake Rd., Clinton, NC 28328.

Cliff was preceded in death by his mother; Donna Partida, stepfather; David Partida and one of his best buddies; David Knowles.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife; Amanda Thornton, of Clinton, stepchildren; Cody Faircloth, Paisley Faircloth, and Kyra Faircloth. His Father; Hubert Glen Thornton. Siblings; Terrance Ryan Thornton, Tracey Glen Thornton, and Ashley Merritt.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in Cliff’s honor.
