Cleveland Nelson Obituary

Cleveland “Heavy D” Nelson 70, was born in Sampson county on October 21.1950 to Clarence and Jessie Moore. He is the baby boy of ten kids.  Cleveland (Heavy D) transitioned to eternal rest on Friday October 8. 2021 at his place of resident.  Cleveland attend the Sampson /Clinton schools in his youth and move to New York after school. 

Cleveland had a son name Cory Nelson before he moved to New York.

Cleveland resided in Clinton, NC with the love of his life Rosa Wortham (deceased) and to this union they had five kids, Tachona Nelson, Ray Nelson, Frank Nelson (deceased), Lazsheen Nelson (deceased), Jeremy Nelson (deceased). And a special niece/daughter Caren Hines

Cleveland was also a widow to Shelia Sturivdant (deceased) and in that union they had three kids, Antoinette Nelson Kennedy,  Cleveland Nelson Jr., Donelle Nelson

Cleveland had a host of grandkids  total of 17 with.. 7 grandson, Unquie, Ramel, Dayquan, Zayshaun, Rico, Frank, and  Zaymone and 9 granddaughters... Cleaisa, Ray Ray, Donella, Raisha,  Quanye, Tyashia, Akira, Jamira, Iva, and Rayhanna.

A Walk Thru will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, family present from 5:00 - 6:00 pm at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel 1246 Hobbton Hwy Clinton, NC 28328.

Cleveland Nelson was a awesome man he was a provider for his families, he has taken care of many people in the community in his life time, he supported all the members of his family.  He was there for all of us . Dad was a construction worker/carpenter.   He love to ride his motorcycles, he would ride with  his motorcycle group at night they would ride in Brooklyn just sight seeing.  Dad love to fish he could fish for hours, he would grow his own produce, and he decide to try it this past year, and he grew something. Lol..lol..lol

Cleveland loved his family and his kids, He would called them daily just to check on them, He would say just checking on you and wanted to hear your voice, He didn’t want anything but to say Hi what you Doing?.  WE ARE GONNA MISS THOSE PHONE CALLS!!!!

Cleveland survived his finance Blonnie Owens, and his children Tachona Bell,   Antoinette Kennedy (Country),  Clevalnd Nelson Jr (Shalonda),  Ray Nelson,  Donelle Nelson (Wife), Frank  Nelson, Jeremy Nelson, and host of great grandkids from North Carolina and New York.  He also survive his sibling one brother Simon Nelson, Clinton, NC  and five sisters All from Brooklyn NY Ida Dennis, Grace, Shirely Corbett, Brenda (Amani), Patricia Simmons .

Dad we LOVE YOU and we will MISS YOU!!
